Batman actor Ben Affleck has revealed what the cut Wonder Woman scene from DC’s next big blockbuster release, The Flash, contained.
Previously, The Hollywood Reporter discussed how Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Henry Cavill’s Superman originally had cameos in the upcoming Flash movie that have now been cut. This means that Affleck’s Batman is the only other Justice League member in the film.
Now Affleck has opened up about what exactly was the deleted Wonder Woman scene. On the podcast Smartless, Affleck talked about how Batman and Wonder Woman shared a scene together.
“I don’t want to give a spoiler, but it was a scene where I get caught [and] get saved by Wonder Woman during a conflagration with some bad guys. What happens is that Batman divulges some of his real feelings about his life and work.“
Sounds like at some point in the movie, Batman gets caught in Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth and then becomes compelled to reveal his feelings about being Batman. This scene is very similar to a one from the 2017 theatrical release of Justice League where Aquaman accidentally sits on the Lasso of Truth and starts confessing his identity crisis issues to the League.
No More Gal Gadot Wonder Woman?
It’s too bad that Wonder Woman has been cut from The Flash, as there’s a real chance that this may well have been Gal Gadot’s last time playing the iconic character. Instead, her final performance was her cameo in SHAZAM!: Fury of the Gods.
At least we will be treated to seeing Ben Affleck as Batman one last time. Interestingly, the actor has reported,
“I finally figured out how to play the guy.“
So I guess this means Affleck’s last time playing Batman is also the most comfortable he’s felt with the character.
Here’s hoping the cut Wonder Woman scene will appear in the bonus features section of the film’s physical release.
The Flash hits theaters on June 16.
