The future of the live-action DC universe is alive and well, following a few hiccups here and there. 2022 alone will see the release of theatrical films like The Flash, Black Adam, and The Batman. Additionally, thanks to the HBO Max streaming service, projects like Peacemaker and Batgirl will get their chance to shine as well. Up next, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, a Wonder Twins film is now in the works under the DC banner.
Per the initial report, Black Adam scribe Adam Sztykiel will write and direct the upcoming adaptation. Moreover, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (The Twilight Saga) are on-board to executive produce the film via their Temple Hill production banner. HBO Max will handle the film’s distribution with Warner Bros. footing the bill. At this time, no casting information is solidified.

The Wonder Twins are extraterrestrial twin brother and sister superheroes, Zan and Jayna. The pair can activate their superpowers by touching hands and saying the phrase “Wonder Twin powers, activate!”. Jayna can transform into any animal, and Zan can become water in any state. The siblings also have a pet monkey, Gleek, who assists in their crime-fighting activities.
The Wonder Twins made their debut in The All-New Super Friends Hour animated series. The duo then appeared in other animated hits such as Teen Titans Go!, Justice League Unlimited, and even Family Guy. On the live-action side of things, David Gallagher and Allison Scagliotti portrayed the heroes in Smallville.
