The Pinnacle Cup in Dota II is the first of four-tournament series that sums 200.000 dollars in prizes and a Malta-based bootcamp. For the participants, the week-long bootcamp in Malta offers a 5-star InterContinental hotel stay.
The Malta Vibes Series of events has been brought up by Pinnacle and Eden Esports and takes on the Dota 2 tournament. If that sounds obvious, it might be silly to consider how the pinnacle-famous group gathered forty teams to participate in a $50,000 prize pool.
Malta – the Pinnacle Cup #1.
Malta is a leader in the Pfalcon Football team.
In a tournament of that calibre, the Pinnacle Cup consistes of single-eliminations and Playoffs, where they are the best of three matches. Even the top five grand final can be contested and all matches were to be decided the winning team will ever go ahead.
After entering the Playoffs-Standards format, Rounds 1 and 2 had three hundred-two teams, and several notable teams from the Dota Pro Circuit.
Several teams who are from the leading Division-1 bracket of DPC 2023 participated in the Pinnacle Cup, such as Darkside, Team DogChamp and Monaspa.
Pinnacle
Recaps and MTV’s in the Pinnacle Cup in Malta are the number one attraction of this event.
The Pinnacle Cup has reached its quarterfinal phase, where only eight teams have arrived. After the clash of powerhouses in Round 3 and 3, Natus Vincere, Into The Breach, former-HellRaisers, Old G, OG, Monaspa, and Virtus.pro are the top eight teams.
The majority of teams performed as expected, except for BetBoom, who fell out after losing against Monaspa. I would appreciate any suggestion that one would be a qualified Berlin Major candidate, but certainly more to expect in the quarterfinals.
Notably, we have Old G vs ex-HellRaisers, which are a must-watch for OG fans. Ex-HellRaisers is the Eastern Europe Tour 2 winner of DPC 2023 and is going to be competing at Berlin Major. It makes me think of how far Old G has improved itself. Old G looks at the division one of the toughest areas, and ultimately the Major.
The old-school match is a group-game match between team OG and team OG. However, that would require OG to win the quarterfinal first. I think it would be a highly-anticipated match since both european rivals would like to compete to prove which European region is tougher.
In return, quarterfinals at the Palm and Pinnacle Cup of Malta are certain to be thrilling. Competition will be worse this time, thanks to the strategic planning. We could witness a series of legendary matches far earlier than when Old G eventually reach the division 1 bracket after their own Division 2 run.
Of course a few Berlin Major players in the competition enriched the Pinnacle Cup Malta Vibes by the following day.
