Fans’ frustrations continue to pile up as the once promising Blacklist Rivalry lineup was met by nothing but shortcomings so far.
For the second-straight time, the all-star, all-Filipino crew missed out on another Major, this time, bowing out of contention for the Berlin Major after settling for a fifth seed finish in the DPC SEA 2023: Tour 2.
Blacklist finished with a 3-4 record in the standings to still keep their spot in the first division in the region. That however still falls short of the expectations for the team.
For the fans, it seemed like the team building which the Tier One-backed squad did before Tour 2 was not enough as they now call for a roster change.
Team owner Tryke Guttierrez admitted through his vlog that he also shared the disappointment of the rest of the fans especially that he also envisioned the team to at least reach one Major throughout the seasons.
“Para hindi na lang negative rin and this is how I see it, I guess sobrang disappointing the run for two seasons, this is not what we expected to be part of the Majors at least in every season and grow and develop every season. However, it didn’t happen,” said Tryke.
Despite the shortcomings though Tryke believed the team still has plenty of chance to make things work and address their problems as he hinted at a possibility of changes within the team.
“It’s the identity and the communication that needs to be polished kasi para sa akin kung kayang makita ng mga viewers iyon from outside looking in imposibleng hindi iyon nakikita ng mga players eh,” he explained.
“We choose to continuously fight there’s one major left and TI is still around the corner I think kakausapin namin yung mga players isa-isa yung players na nandun and really assess what we really need to do from here kasi definitely kailangan namin ng changes. Changes in terms of any form, may it be habits, whatever, pero ayokong mag react and magdecide ng di ko pa nakakausap isa isa,” he added.
