Hello everyone and welcome back to Upcoming Comics! This week we have a few new Knight Terrors titles starting, alongside some of our regular content like Batman Inc! How are you all liking the Knight Terrors titles so far? For my part I’ve seen some mixed reviews and I feel much the same way. I’ve discussed my own dislike of long events and this one promises to be long but there are some interesting ideas being played with in a few of the titles and some fun to be had depending on what you’re reading. Time will really be the telling factor with this event, to see just how many diamonds come out of the run of titles, and how enjoyable readers will find it as a whole.
Upcoming Comics
Knight Terrors #1
Hello, ghouls and ghosts! This is Boston Brand, a.k.a. Deadman, and I’ll be your supernatural tour guide across the Knight Terrors stories! After that fancy special oversize issue you have to read first, the whole world is trapped inside their nightmares, and Batman and I are trying to figure out who Insomnia really is…and why he wants revenge on the heroes of the DC Universe!

- Penciled By: Giuseppe Camuncoli, Caspar Wijngaard
- Inks By: Caspar Wijngaard, Stefano Nes
- Colors By: Caspar Wijngaard, Frank Martin
- Cover By: Ivan Reis, Danny Miki, Brad Anderson
Thoughts: This is one of the reasons I don’t like big events. It’s odd connective tissue event books like this, because it makes you think this is where Knight Terrors starts, despite there being First Blood out last week, this one is also a number one. It just–makes it hard for readers to stay engaged.

Knight Terrors: Robin #1
It’s Robin versus Robin versus nightmare Robins? When the two Bat-brothers get taken into the Nightmare Realm, Jason Todd and Tim Drake must fight against their worst fears and each other as they’re forced to relive the darkest moments of their lives.
- Written By: Kenny Porter
- Pencils & Inks By: Miguel Mendonca
- Colors By: Brad Anderson, Adriano Lucas
- Cover By: Ivan Reis, Danny Miki, Brad Anderson
Thoughts: I have to say, I’m not super excited about a solicit that pits Robins against each other, even in a nightmare scenario. I can only hope that beyond all that we get some good family moments out of this.

Worlds Finest: Teen Titans #1
Spinning out of the pages of the runaway hit Batman/Superman: World’s Finest comes a modern retelling of the early adventures of the original Teen Titans! Led by Robin, the Boy Wonder, a new super-team has burst onto the scene-meet the Teen Titans, DC’s grooviest group filled with super-teens with super-problems. When they’re not fighting alongside their Justice League mentors, they’re managing their image and cultivating the rabid fan base that helps them save the world…as, all the while, a danger from the shadows intends to tear these friends apart before they ever reach the big time. Before they were the Titans of the DCU, they were the Teen Titans, and you won’t want to miss this fresh take on their origins from the legendary talents of Mark Waid and Emanuela Lupacchino!

Thoughts: Worlds Finest is one of my favorite books out right now, and to see a Teen Titans title spinning out of it has me really excited. I’m interested to see just what Waid has in mind for this retelling of such a classic group’s stories!

The Batman & Scooby Doo Mysteries #10
All aboard the Mega-Mystery Cruise! Amateur detectives attend a new convention held on the high seas-part escape room, part dinner theater, there’s a mystery to solve in every room. Thoughts: Pirates on a mystery cruise ship? Batman and the gang dealing with that in the middle of a boat literally brimming with puzzles and mysteries? This sounds delightful.

Beyond the Bat
Welcome back to Beyond the Bat! Here we look at the titles coming out this week that aren’t Batman focused. On the docket this week are a number of Knight Terrors tie ins, like The Flash and Zatanna. Normally I’m excited to see a Zatanna title, but I’d rather it be something other than nightmare fuel. Still, it’s good to see my girl getting some focus again!
Ratings
Most Excited: Worlds Finest: Teen Titans #1– I’ve been really enjoying World’s Finest and I’m looking forward to this as more of that fun, with characters I really enjoy reading.
Least Excited: Batman Incorporated #10– I’m still not on board with this whole Jokers across the world idea that Batman Inc is playing with right now, and just not interested in seeing where it goes.
Wild Card: Knight Terrors: Robin #1- I am hopeful that despite the nightmare fueled story there is something hiding in this comic that will highlight the brotherly relationship between Tim and Jason, and not just bring up old hurts.
That’s all for this week’s Upcoming Comics! Don’t forget to let us know what you’re reading, skipping, and interested in picking up! Until then, I hope you all have a great week!
