Hello everyone and welcome back to Upcoming Comics! I hope you’ve had great week! I’ve been busy moving, and am in fact deep in the middle of that as I get ready to share the week’s comics with you all. So I’m going to keep this intro pretty short because I have a veritable ton of boxes still to empty out and comics to sort before things are even a little bit close to being normal again.

Thoughts: I’ve heard a lot of buzz about this issue, and I too am really interested in it. Win or fail, I love it when comics play with form and creating one from Nightwing’s POV sounds interesting!

Thoughts: This much drama almost right out of the gate is not really something I’m thrilled about, I hate the idea of killing off one of the team this early in this run.

The Vigil #2
/…/ /Who Are the Vigil?/ /Arclight file loading… The identity of Arclight, a known member of the rogue metahuman group the Vigil, is unknown at this time. However, observations conclude that he is the leader of the group, which also consists of Dodge, Saya, and Castle…among other possible members unknown at this time. Evidence shows there is a link between Arclight’s military history with the pirates who have taken control of a boat along the coast of Thailand and the island destination where the contents of the boat were headed. What secrets does this island contain, and is it another government experiment covered up as a “conspiracy” only believed by heretics? Stay tuned for more/ /…/ /you are being watched./

Batgirls #19
The people of the Hill have had enough of Gunbunny and Gunhawk’s demands and take to the streets to march in solidarity with the Batgirls. Moved by this, the Batgirls join in, proving to both the city and the snipers that Gothamites should not be underestimated-and that we can overcome even the darkest of times if we have each other. Come join the Batgirls in the march to celebrate them in this last issue of the beloved series!

- Pencils & Inks By: Robbi Rodriguez
- Colors By: Rico Renzi
- Cover By: Jorge Corona, Sarah Stern
Thoughts: This last arc has felt rushed and a bit disconnected with the rest of the series, and while I’m afraid this final issue will do the same, I am hoping that the ending will land well.

The children of The Joker and Harley Quinn run straight into terrible danger! The “innocent” Joker family road trip has taken a turn for the worse. While visiting the place where their parents’ love story began, Bryce and Jackie find themselves trapped…by the daughter of the Ventriloquist! Will they be able to escape this puppet show from hell? Beyond the Bat
Welcome to Beyond the Bat! Here we take a look at the comics coming out this week not focused on Batman. It’s a pretty big week for these, with Wonder Woman hitting its 800th issue! It’s got a host of alternate covers associated with it to celebrate the milestone with a mix of fun and really lovely ones to see.
Ratings
Most Excited: Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #16- This series is such a treat to read, set in a fun time period and just kind of having a blast telling its stories! I’m excited to see the team take on this wild machine filled adventure.
Least Excited: Batgirls #19- Having been so inconsistent across its whole run, I can’t really see Batgirls managing to tie everything up neatly here at the end, and honestly that’s a real shame for a series I was so excited to see announced.
Wild Card: Nightwing #105- Playing with form and point of view is always something to look forward to, and I’m hoping it succeeds!
That’s all for this week’s Upcoming Comics! I hope you all have an excellent rest of your weekend, and we’ll see you in the comments!
