Zachary Levi has shared that he is uncertain what his future in the role of Shazam is as the DC Universe prepares to launch.
As the DCEU prepares to give way to the DC Universe under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran, which actors will continue over still remains to be seen. It has seemed clear that John Cena will continue as Peacemaker as well as a few others, but there has been no complete list of who will be included. It seems that Levi is questioning whether or not he will be there.
Appearing on the FilmUp Podcast, Levi said, “I don’t know what the future holds because Fury of the Gods was not well received. I have no idea where we go from here.” He went on to add, “It’ll be one of those things that people will go back and watch, on home streaming or on a plane or whatever, and they’ll be like “Well, wait a minute!””
Shazam: Fury of the Gods was released on March 17 of this year and scored an opening weekend of $30.11 million. It went on to a domestic total of $57.63 million, and a global total of $132.19 million off of an estimated budget of $125 million.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is currently available to stream on Max.
