Zack Snyder Teases ‘Save the Date’ Announcement from Darkseid
Posted on March 16, 2023 by Neil Cole
Director Zack Snyder has posted a cryptic announcement on his Twitter account from Darkseid with the words “incoming transmission from Lord Darkseid” flashing across the screen followed by the iconic DC Comics villain stating, “April 28th, 29th, and 30th. Save the Date”. Snyder also hashtagged the post with “#fullcircle”.
Darkseid was featured as the main villain in “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” which premiered on HBO Max on March 18th, 2021, roughly four years after the theatrical release of “Justice League” which, following Snyder’s departure from the production due to the death of his daughter, was helmed by Joss Whedon (“The Avengers”) who was brought on board to conduct reshoots and finish the film.
After the film was poorly received at the box office, fans began demanding Warner Bros. to “Release the Snyder Cut” which differed greatly from Whedon’s cut of the film. Luckily, the studio would eventually release Snyder’s original version of the film which, in addition to several recuts and new scenes, focued heavily on Cyborg’s storyline and replaced Steppenwolf with Darkseid as the primary villain. The result was a four-hour-long film which, despite its runtime, was widely praised and considered far superior to “Justice League”.
Snyder’s cryptic announcement concerning Darkseid is a mystery for now with the leading rumor being that it is a set up to a theatrical release of “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”. Check out the cryptic announcment below:
